MAD RIVER VALLEY SOCCER ASSOCIATION FALL PROGRAM: Grades K-6

The MRVS Association's Fall Recreational Program is open to children of all ability levels. The emphasis is on learning the game of soccer, developing skills and having fun. While games are played, no records or league championships are held. Players will play equal amounts in games, as much as possible. The MRVSA Fall Rec Program will register players in May/June of this school year. If your child will be in grades 1-6 next fall and wants to play soccer in the fall recreation program, follow the instructions on this form. If your child will be in Kindergarten, you may register by mail, online or at a walk-in registration night held in late August or early September.

Older children may register at the fall walk-in registration night on a space available basis and after paying a late fee of $10 per family. If your child is unsure about playing in the fall, we encourage you to register him/her. You will receive a refund if the player decides not to play before the season begins.

Applications and Registration
We encourage parents to register players online or on the Applications page. Credit card payments will be taken online. Applications will also be available at your school in mid-May. Applications and fees are due by June 18 to secure a spot for your child. Please mail applications to:

Fee Structure
Grades 1 – 6: $40 for one player and $35 for each additional sibling.
Kindergarten: $30.
· Late fee after June 18: $10 per family

Due Dates
Applications are due by June 18. Applications received after June 18, whether by mail or via the website, will be considered late and a $10.00 per family late fee must accompany the registration. Players who register late will be placed on a waiting list. Teams will be formed if coaches can be secured.

Team Selection
Teams will be selected to maintain a balance of players. Teams will not be selected based on towns nor will the league accept requests to practice at only one site. The league will place players as close to their hometowns as possible, while maintaining a balance being the top priority. Team selections are final. Please do not call board members to get information about team selection. Your coach will notify your family in late August or early September.

Practice Sites
Four sites will be used for fall soccer: Moretown Elementary School, Couples Field and Mad River Park in Waitsfield, and Warren School. Practices will start the second week in September.

Practice Schedule
Kindergarten: Co-ed, one practice per week, no games.
Grades 1-2: Co-ed, one practice per week, one game per week.
Grades 3-4: Separate girls/boys teams, two practices per week, one game per week.
Grades 5-6: Same as 3-4, practices may run slightly longer.

Equipment Needed
Shin guards, #4 ball, water bottle, cleats suggested, but not required.
