Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering is a fun way to participate in a great sport and make a difference in the lives of the children in our community.

Goal and Net Set Up and Take Down
This is a one or two time per season task depending on your availability. Some strength is helpful for moving the goals and the sand weights for them. Six to eight people for this task will make it move quickly. Contact Doreen Kelly at dmaekelly@gmavt.net.

Spring Tryout Help
This is a one time per season task, generally on a Sunday afternoon in October. Help sign kids in, hand out bibs or be a timer.

Spring Game Scheduler
Schedule home games for Mad River Soccer teams. (Timing is February thru April). Find out about potential conflicts with school and other sport schedules and use league guidelines to schedule games. Contact
Anne Greshin at greshin@gmavt.net.

Spring Coordinator Assistant
Help with initial team letters to players and help with communication to coaches concerning schedules. Ideally this person would be able to be the Spring Coordinator for the following season. (Timing is October thru June) Contact
Anne Greshin at greshin@gmavt.net.

Field Maintenance
This is an activity that can be done during your child’s practice. We’re looking for parents who can help re-line a field. If you can help with this task or with the initial lining of fields, contact Doreen Kelly at dmaekelly@gmavt.net.

Equipment Manager - FILLED
MRVSA is looking for an organized individual to manage its equipment. The Equipment Manager ensures that each team gets the appropriate equipment, orders new equipment with the advice of the Spring and Fall Coordinators, collects equipment and ensures that it is stored in an organized fashion.

Fall Registrar - FILLED
MRVSA is looking for an organized person to help register kids for the fall soccer program. Early registration begins in June (both electronically and by paper) and there’s a late registration event in the first week of September.

Jamboree Organization - FILLED
Help us plan a party! MRVSA is looking for parents to help on a committee to organize our own Jamboree, which is held towards the end of the spring season. The Jamboree includes scrimmages among Mad River teams, a picnic and other fun activities. If you can help with this project, contact Anne Greshin at greshin@gmavt.net or 583-3223, or Patti Kaufmann at kaufmann@gmavt.net or 496-2590.
